The Hummel's Go To The Zoo

We went to the zoo with grandma and grandpa Hummel on Saturday. We were there from 10:30 until 5:10. William, stubborn, walked the entire time when there was a perfectly good wagon he could have ridden in.

William is getting more and more brave. He has now touched a centipede and a snake. I didn't think he'd touch the snake. He said it felt soft.

Nathan's first pony ride. He is a natural.

This is William 17.2 seconds into the trip home. Nathan stayed awake for the entire trip home. He slept for about 40 mins. while at the zoo.

Happy Mother's Day...Putt Putt...It's Good to be King

Mother's Day was quite enjoyable. Obviously William had a good time (yes he is asleep). You'd think we had a kegger. They got me a digital frame that is fun to watch. We had a picnic for my mom and grandma.
This is my 1st school gift. I was so excited. Yes it is the top of a Big Mac box.

Last Monday we took the boys to Burger King (1st time) and then we went to play putt putt. We were very surprised that Nathan made it the entire time without going for a swim in the water hazard or busting his face on something. We leave for Myrtle Beach soon, Keith thought we'd be putting everyday, he now has 2nd thoughts.
Nathan is a very persistent, busy little body.

Refined Tastes

I forgot to mention that in a space of 3 days Nathan ate or tried to eat cat food and other nonedible substances. I had to dig 8 pieces out cat food out of his mouth. He tasted a rock that same night and 2 days later he ate a handful of sand. I tried to dig it out, but you just can't get sand out of someone's mouth who, frankly rather liked it being there. So, he chewed it up and swallowed it and really didn't seem to mind. A week later he managed to get more cat food in his mouth, so it must be kind of tasty.

Tornado Vs. Volcano =Run for your Life!!!!

One day a few weeks ago, all William could talk about was the volcano that came to his school. I asked if a kid or adult showed them the volcano and he said it was a kid. So I "assumed" the school had a presentation of a science fair project or something. The mom in me had to tell him all about the differences between magma and lava and so on and so on. So, we are at open house and he is showing grandma some stuff when he points down a long hallway and says, "that is where we hide from the volcano." Then it all made sense. They had a tornado drill. Tornado, volcano, it's all good. He knows a lot more about volcano's now.

We celebrated Keith's birthday last weekend. He turned 37 on the 27th. Obviously William was involved with the party planning since Keith had a Spiderman cake. William has reached the age where he tells everything he knows, so Keith knew well in advance about the cake and most of his gifts. Of course I can't get William to tell me anything about Mother's Day.

Nathan is full of it. He is so funny. He is a clown and a daredevil. He loves to slide alone down the slides at the park. He has beat William in the head with a toy twice in the last week or so. That doesn't go over very well.

Walk America was the 28th. Both boys did very well. Nathan decided to take a very uncomfortable siesta at the end.

William wiped his face in a funny way while he was eating cake and it looked like he had strange facial hair.
