The Finished Product

The Reason We Went to the Brookfield Zoo...the live dinos

The signs in the exhibit were really funny.
William was in this same terrified position back in 06 when we took him to see the dinos in Cleveland.

We were at the zoo for 6 hours. Most of which were spent walking in the rain. Thats my idea of fun.

Grrrrr.

Rock animals are so much fun to play on. This zoo had a rinky dink feel to it but a lot of the animals that can also be seen at the Columbus zoo were really active. The male and female lions were running and playing.

Our Lego Heroes

Nathan & Bob Bob.

An even more fearsome Darth Lego.

William and his hero.

Nathan gets a little handsy with Batman. We didn't know Batman was that kind of guy.

Legoland Discovery Center...Heaven on Earth

William and some Indiana Jones dude. Those are his fav type of Legos. You can make anything out of Legos.
If you dressed like a pirate you got in free. We will do anything to save 30 bucks.

Part of Lego Chicago. It was neat. The lights would dim to show how it looks at night.

Entering the building. Nathan is hiding behind a leg. This was more for William and that other guy. Nathan isn't into Legos that much yet, however; he did have a good time.

Navy Pier: We <3 Walking

Some weird thing in the Children's Museum
Big smiles on the Lighthouse ride. William appears to be hanging on for dear life but he loved it.

Nathan is very concerned with his fitness when he is not stuffing his face with cookies, candy, snacks and juice/koolaid. He was able to fashion a barbell out of tinker toys at the museum so that he could get in his workout.

William digs for dino bones at the museum.

Ahh. Photo ops.

We are still on Day 1

We managed to get in free at the Childrens Museum. It was luck. Nathan loves to pretend. He was fixing hot dogs and fries and then he would say "order up." Neither of us knew where he got that from.
The Hersey Chocolate store. They got free factory worker hats.

The world famous stuffed pizza joint. Nathan actually had his head in his plate at one point.

Picky poo even liked it.

Nathan being Nathan.

There is a such thing as a Lego Store and Another and Another....

Bulk Legos. All 3 boys had a hayday filling containers at 3 different Lego venues.

A place to build Legos. William enjoyed building a replica of the "Serious" Tower.

Darth Lego.

Chicago is under attack by dinos.

Lego figures were everywhere at the 1st Lego store we went to.

No Moss Here

The last 2 games got rained out so the season was pretty short. William did manage to hit a couple of pitches.
The releasing of the butterflies. Grandma and Poompa gave William a butterfly garden for his birthday. All 5 caterpillars emerged as butterflies. It was very quick and neat despite the carnage that occurs when they emerge from their slumber. It was a blood bath in there. Also a couple of the butterflies were gettin it on and they didn't want to leave so we let them honeymoon another night.

Our tball team was undermaned so we sent in the Nathanator. He hit the ball twice and ran the bases but he didn't want to play the field. Being on the field cut into his candy eating time.

All the great grandchildren on the Sprang side. Nathan 3, William 5, Kendall 4, Lucas 8 and Everett 7 mo

Celebrating our birthdays.

Playset O Dreams

A little naked play on the new set. Keith worked on this for about 6 weeks maybe. It went pretty well. It has a tube slide and he was able to save the old slide and attach it in a new place so the boys have 2 slides. I must say it looks pretty awesome. It looks as big as the house. Its the best set in the hood.
Telling secrets on the bridge.
It has 2 towers, 2 swings, 1 bar, 1 picnic table, 1 sand box, 2 slides, 1 bridge connecting the towers, 1 parascope, 1 telescope, 2 climbing walls...

It has a table for eating.

2 types of climbing walls.

During the work phase. Mom got the great job of sanding and staining. I was also instrumental in the construction of the tube slide which according to the directions was a one man job. I don't think instruction writers ever try to construct what they are teaching you.

Third Time the Charm!

William finally graduated from preschool!
His teachers, soon to be Nathan's teachers. They are in for a real shock!

Mom and dad are so proud!

I took Nathan to school the end of May. I tried to stay with William at school any chance I had.

Ahh creative play.
